19th//Salvation Army shelter, October 17, 2011

Women who bully other women may not realize that, while women are bullying other women, men are getting the better of all women without even trying.

It seems to me that, aside from women who are participating in what’s going on because they are knowingly, willingly corrupted,  and aside from women who are too young to have developed realistically high expectations for their own lives, there are women who have and perhaps have always had  low expectations for their own lives and who bully other women in order to gain power within the parameters of what’s been inappropriately defined for them as being all they can or should aspire to have.

I took this recording yesterday morning, in the female dorm of the Salvation Army Harbor Lights shelter in Boston.  I can’t help the name of the place.

It’s true that I had started saying some cruel things back, the night before, and also that morning.  In the morning, after I’d said something back to the coughing, one of the women who’d been coughing went and told staff that I was being rude to them.  You can hear what happened next.

Near the end of the recording, when the shelter staffperson was still in the room, you can hear one of the women coughing on purpose.   I mention it in the recording, too, “Did you hear that?”

The zipping sound is me putting things into my backpack, getting ready to go.

When I went out into the hallway, the staffperson stood in the hallway with her hand on the phone, apparently trying to threaten me that she was going to call the police if I didn’t just leave.

The computer here is really slow, and I haven't been able to upload the recording yet.  I also haven't been able to delete my first attempt to do that.  I'm also being bullied by other women on either side of me at the computer lab here.   I've had better mornings.  @ 9:01 a.m.

I think the recording has been uploaded by now.
